Handmade Scottish Thistle Pennanular Brooch

Scottish Thistle Penannular Pin

Twisted heavy square wire as the base, twisted in opposite directions, with cast thistle heads on each end, the pin's head is decorated with a teardrop garnet cabochon. A beautiful, heavy piece of history. One of a kind.

Ring Brooch, 13th Century

Handmade Sterling Silver Ring Brooch 13th CenturyThis ring brooch is intended to be used as a cloak closure, therefore I made it the largest size made during the period - approximately 7 cm. It is forged by hand from solid sterling silver wire, hammered flat and engraved with the saying from one brooch, (which translates: "I am here in place of a friend.") and set with stones in the style of another. The stones used here were Lapis lazuli and a cabochon emerald.

I can and do make this piece in other sizes and materials.  I have a list of sayings available for use on this or other pieces, most of them are in Latin, medieval French or period English.

As shown, this piece is cast in bronze and heavily plated in 18K gold. Available in plain jeweler's bronze, gold plate and solid sterling. Also available with 2 stones, such as shown on page 1 - the Ring Pin. Price would vary depending on stone.
